Effective the morning of August 29, recreational campfires in approved-type fire pits will be permitted in Fire District 9 (Lake Wenatchee), Fire District 4 (Ponderosa) and Fire District 3 (Leavenworth vicinity). All campfires must be attended at all times and burning of brush, yard waste, construction debris, etc is prohibited.
WDFW has announced that the record setting 2014 Lake Wenatchee Sockeye season, 70,000 fish crossed the fish ladder in Tumwater Canyon, will close 1 hour after sunset on Monday Sept. 1. link. As you can see from the photo the sockeye are starting to age, (hooked nose, red color). This fish was caught August 18, better for smoking then the BBQ.
